I've done this a number of times with gently worn T shirts that I stopped wearing ( didn' t like the style, didn't fit, etc. and either skirts from flannel nightgowns where the top had worn out, or pieces of fabric I inherited from my aunt's house or got from the thrift store that were too small to make a dress out of. I started doing this when I needed new nightgowns and they were $20. at Wal-Mart, out of flimsy fabric that would't last long. It makes a nice lounger or house dress, and you can answer the door and not worry. They are nice and roomy and I sleep in them. You could buy new materials to make to wear outside, or for kids.

Helpful tutorial. Good tips. Question: I am inherited an old sewing machine and am looking to buy a new one. I am between a beginner and intermediate sewer. Which machine would you recommend?? there are so many and am overwhelmed for the choice. many look flimsy.

First time on your channel. I am very impressed with your tutorial. You are so thorough with nothing but details! I LOVE how you show your work at the machine. Some people just tell you how to do it by pointing their finger at what needs to be sewn. Then the camera picks up from that point on. No, not you. You show ALL of your work and I so much appreciate that, all the while talking your viewers (who many may be beginners) through the entire process with such great learning details! You are a great teacher and I of course have subscribed and liked the video.
